Synthesize with catalog voices

  • First, write the text you want to synthesize.

  • Then choose a voice from the voice catalog. You must first select the gender, then the language and finally the voice number. You can listen to an example of the voice by pressing the Play example button.

  • Finally, press the Synthesize button to create an audio of the phrase. You can download the audio by clicking on the three dots to the right of the player and selecting Download. This may be different depending on your browser.

  • You can try modifying some of the voice parameters by clicking on Show more options. Slide the different cursors and re-synthesize the phrase to hear the changes.

Synthesize with personalized voices

To create your custom voice, go to the Donate my voice page. If you have lost your voice or have some voice impairment, you can select a voice from the catalog as your own personalized voice. Visit the Select a voice from the catalog as a personalized voice section.

Use your personalized voice

  • After typing the text you want to synthesize, click on the Use your own Synthetic Voice checkbox. If you have created your voice in more than one language, you can select it from the list on the right.

  • Click on the Synthesize button.

Modify your personalized voice

  • Click on Show more options and slide the sliders that appear. Synthesize different phrases to hear the changes, and repeat the process until you find a combination you like.
  • Save the changes to your personalized voice by clicking on the Save changes button.

  • You can make further changes to the modified voice, so that you can further increase the parameters. For example, if your personalized voice is too slow, you can increase the speed several times in a row.

Select a voice from the catalog as a personalized voice

If you prefer, you can replace your custom voice with a voice from the catalog. This is useful for saving a catalog voice on which you have applied changes, or for using the voice on your devices.

  • With the Use your own Synthetic Voice checkbox unchecked, select the voice you want to use.
  • You can then modify the parameters of your choice.
  • Finally, click on the Save changes button.

Restore your original voice

Follow the steps below to recover your original personalized voice. This will undo any changes applied, either a modification of the parameters or replacement with another voice from the catalog.

  • Check the Use your own Synthetic Voice checkbox and select the language for which you want to restore the voice.
  • Click on Show more options, and then on Restore original.

Use your personalized voice in your devices

If you want to use your personalized voice in your devices, click on Use my personalized voice in my devices. Two buttons will appear.

To use your personalized voice on Windows, click on the corresponding button and after a few seconds, an installer with your personalized voices will be downloaded, as well as a set of standard voices. You can use the voices with Text-to-Speech software, screen readers, Augmentative and Alternative Comunication software and another software compatible with SAPI5.
