Inma Hernáez Rioja received the Telecommunication Engineering degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain, in 1987, and the Ph.D. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of the Basque Country, Bilbao, Spain, in 1995.
She is currently Full Professor with the Department of Communications Engineering, Faculty of Engineering in Bilbao, University of the Basque Country, where she is involved in the area of signal theory and communications, and member and Director of the Aholab Signal Processing Laboratory. She is also a Board member of Hitz. Her research interests include signal processing and all aspects related to speech processing. She is interested in the development of speech resources and technologies for the Basque language as well as application of speech technologies to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities.
