Bizkaifon is a multimodal (speech and video) database containing thousands recordings of the many different western dialects of Basque. Most of them are transcribed to Standard Basque. It is accessible via web through this page. The database is available at ELRA.

702 phonetically balanced sentences repeated for the 6 MPEG emotions and neutral style, for male (Peru) and female (Kattalin) voices. It also contains a continuous read speech of 8 min, also in 7 styles. It was registered at 48kHz, 16bits, semi-professional room, 2 microphones and laryngograph included. The female voice Kattalin has been segmented at phone level and manually revised for the neutral style. It is available for research use. Please send us an email.
Ahoemo1: Emotional speech and video database in Standard Basque
170 items (sentences, words) repeated for the 6 MPEG emotions and neutral style, for a female voice. The audio was registered at 32kHz, 16bits, professional studio, 1 microphones and laryngograph included. Two cameras were used for video recordings (one frontal, one lateral). Face markers were used. The female voice has been segmented at phone level and manually revised for the neutral style. It is available for research use. Please send us an email.

Automatic Speech Dubbing Demo
In the context of BERBATEK research project an automatic speech dubbing demo has been developed. The demo integrates three main technologies: automatic text and audio alignment, machine translation and text to speech synthesis. Subtitles for documentary videos in Spanish are automatically generated using the audio and the corresponding script. The subtitles are then translated to Basque and the new audio signal in Basque is generated using AhoTTS.
Bizkaieraren Fonotekea: a sound archive for the Bizkaian Basque
Bizkaieraren fonotekea is a sound archive created for the Basque variant spoken in the villages located in the area of Bizkaia. You will find all kind of recordings: traditional songs, old sayings, old legends… Through this project we want to show the invaluable treasure of our language and our dialect, not only to the interested people of our world but also to our future generations.
All recordings are transcribed and labeled at different levels which allows the search under different variables. Give it a try!
